Thomas N. Hicks, 60, of Arcadia, passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2020 at Mayo Health System in La Crosse. Tom was born on June 16, 1959, in Winona, to Thomas and Barbara (Konkel) Hicks. On September 9, 1978, Tom married the love of his life, Esther Cox, in Houston, Minnesota.
Tom was preceded in death by his brother, William, in March 2011, and his father in 1975. Tom is survived by his wife Esther; his five children Amy, Nicholas (Lynn), James (Laura), Sarah (Bryan), and Samuel; his 15 grandchildren Nichole, Abagail, Travis, Tristan, Sophia, Savannah, Mariah, Jasmine, Jayden, Vanessa, Sylar, Tyrion, Marsali, Darius, and Cheyanne; his 2 sisters Nancy (Fred) and Tracey (Robert); his brother Brian (Linda); his mother Barbara, and many nieces and nephews.
Tom held various career positions in his life, starting with the National Guard. Shortly after marrying his love, they starting dairy farming together in Minnesota. They continued farming in Iowa until they purchased their own farm in Arcadia, WI, where they farmed until January 2000 when Tom got diagnosed with Leukemia cancer. During 20 years of battling and surviving cancer, Tom drove semi-truck, delivered newspapers, and eventually owned and operated T & E Taxi Cab with his wife, Esther.
Tom valued quality time with his family most in life. Tom was also a muscle car enthusiast, loved making people laugh, and loved to travel by various means of transportation.
Friends and family may call on Tuesday, January 14, 2020, from 10:30 AM until 12:30 PM at the Wozney-Killian Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be at 1:00 PM at the funeral home with Rev. Jon Cox officiating. Burial will be at a later date.
