Theresa Soppa

Theresa J. Soppa 79, of Arcadia died on Saturday, October 6, 2012, at Tri County Memorial Hospital in Whitehall. Theresa was born on September 2, 1933, in Arcadia to Joseph and Amelia (Shepherd) Filla. She married Frederick Soppa on June 27, 1955, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Independence, WI. Theresa farmed alongside her husband, enjoying driving the tractor, and mowing the lawn. She was a member of Holy Family Parish and the PCCW. Theresa welcomed everyone into her home with a cup of coffee and sweets. She loved to be current on politics.
Theresa is survived by her daughter, Carol (Jeff) Bawek of Arcadia; grandson, Dr. Tony (Dr. Jessie) Bawek of Dodge; great grandson Jax Jameson Bawek; brother, Raymond Filla of Arcadia and sister; Marian Gandera of Arcadia; sisters-in-law, Clarice (Glen) Bawek, Martha (Clement)Pronschinske of Arcadia, and Theresa Soppa of TX; brothers-in-law Dr. Richard Soppa of Rockford, IL, and Lawrence Soppa of Hawaii; and Ron (Connie) Soppa of Arcadia. She was preceded in death by her husband Fred on Aug. 9, 1994, sisters-in-law, Monica Rumpel, Sister Miranda, Sister Elise; brothers-in-law Marcel and Michael Soppa.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 11, 2012, at 11:00 AM, at Holy Family Parish with Father Raj officiating. Friends may call on Wednesday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Wozney-Killian Funeral Home where there will be a 7:00 PM prayer service and a 7:30 PM rosary. They may also call on Thursday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the church. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Arcadia.
