Terry Coy

February 4, 1950 — November 20, 2019

Terry L. Coy, 69, of Trempealeau, passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2019, at Oakwood Villa, Altoona, surrounded by his loving family and caregivers.

Terry was born in Oregon, IL, on February 4, 1950, to Walter and Valerie (Harvey) Coy, Jr. After high school, Terry enlisted into the United States Army on June 30, 1969. He fought bravely in Vietnam, earned the rank of a Specialist 4 and was honorably discharged in 1971. Three years later, Terry entered the U.S. Army Reserves, where he continued to stand up for veteran's rights. As fate would have it, his military service would allow him to meet, on more than one occasion, the love of his life, Lynn. Together, Terry and Lynn shared a true love that many people can only wish for. As best friends, the couple enjoyed taking motorcycle tours on their Honda Goldwing, completing ceramic projects, and going out for drives and meals. Terry also enjoyed building model cars, sitting outside watching birds, and doing crossword puzzles. He loved to watch professional wrestling, the Green Bay Packers, and old westerns, such as Bonanza and Gunsmoke. Terry was an over the road truck driver with California Overland and Bud Myers for many years. Terry and Lynn opened their hearts and their home to anyone needing a grandpa and grandma, or even just a friend with a listening ear. His outpouring love for his wife and family will leave a void no match will fill.

Terry leaves in mourning his wife of 37 years, Lynn; his sons: Michael (Corrine) Coy and Jamie (Kari) Coy; his daughter and "baby girl", Shauntae (Rich Simone) Servais; grandchildren: Ariana (AJ) Fernholz, Bryan (Shyann Oliver) Servais-Miles, Chyanne (Alex Brandt) Servais, John, Christie and Caleb; 8 great-grandchildren; sister, Kathy (John) Messenger; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Wayne; and sister, Cheryl.

Services will be private and held at a later date. Wozney-Killian Funeral Home, Arcadia, is assisting his family with arrangements.
