Stephen Paul "Steve" Semling, 60, of Arcadia died on Wednesday, August 3, 2016, at his home. Steve was born in Arcadia on June 26, 1956, to Werner and Della (Drazkowski) Semling Sr.
He graduated from Cochrane Fountain City High School in 1974. On October 21, 1978, Steve was united in marriage to Lori Servais at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Waumande. Steve was employed at Wisconsin Dairies until he was injured in a logging accident in 1984. This resulted in a spinal injury. Although his mobility was limited, he had a desire to make the best of any situation. His memory was as sharp as a tac. Over the years he faced many challenges but always found a way to accept them. Steve enjoyed farming and selling Renk seed. He was a fan of the Brewers and Packers as well as watching old westerns on TV. One of his favorite pastimes was playing cards with family and friends.
Steve is survived by his wife: Lori of Arcadia; daughters: Lisa (Matthew) Priefert of Holmen, Carrie (Michael) Bork of Trempealeau; 2 grandsons: Austin and Garrett Bork of Trempealeau, 6 siblings: Bonnie (Gary) Barnak of Woodbury, MN, Lindon (Charlene) Semling of Winona, Duella (Robert) Murphy of Fountain City, James (Bernice) Semling of Fountain City, Werner (Virgina) Semling Jr. of Elkhorn, MN, Roxanne (Doug) Borkowski of Witoka, MN; brother-in-law: Dick (Vera) Pampuch of Olivia, MN; father-in-law: Dale Servais of Arcadia; sisters-in-law: Patty (Joe) Spurgeon of Prairie du Sac, and Nancy (Ed) Bork of Cochrane; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Jerry and Mark; sister: Gladys Pampuch, and mother-in-law: MaryAnn Servais.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Family Parish in Arcadia on Monday, August 8, 2016, at 11:00 AM with Monsignor Thomas Hargesheimer officiating. A visitation will be held at the Wozney-Killian Funeral Home on Sunday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM where there will be a 7:00 PM rosary. Friends may also call on Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of services at the church.
