Shirley Ann Finner, 82, formerly of Arcadia, passed away on Thursday, October 7, 2021, at the Grandview Care Center in Blair.
Shirley was born in Arcadia on June 11, 1939, to Clarence and Ethel (Klein) Metzler. After graduating from Arcadia High School, Shirley went on to earn her Bachelor’s of Science in Education and began teaching elementary education for the Arcadia School District. Shirley served with the Arcadia Education Association and on the Arcadia Credit Union Board for many years.
Shirley was united in marriage to Clarence Finner on August 12, 1961, at the United Methodist Church in Arcadia. Together the couple raised two children: Mark and Sandra. They were members of Christ Lutheran Church in Arcadia and enjoyed spending time with their children and grandchildren.
Shirley is survived by her son: Mark (Lynn) Finner of Trempealeau; daughter: Sandra (Ron) Palkowski of Arcadia; 5 grandchildren: Brooke Finner, Kayla (Steve) Horton, Kyle (Jamie) Wolters, Matt (Lucy Pronchinske) Palkowski and Kendra (Jake) Budish; and 8 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brother: Gaylord.
