Sandra M. Slaby

Sandra "Sandy" M. Slaby passed away at the age of 81 on Friday, August 7, 2026, at the Trempealeau County Healthcare Center in Whitehall.

She was born on July 3, 1945, to Fred and Bernice (Bach) Theisen and raised on their farm in the township of Glencoe.

Sandy was a 1963 graduate of Arcadia High School and a 1966 graduate of St. Francis- Viterbo School of Nursing. Sandy was employed as an RN at Franciscan-Skemp St. Joseph's Hospital in Arcadia. Sandy married Frank Slaby in 1966, and from that union, they had two sons: Nicholas and Mark.

Sandy is survived by her sons: Nick and Mark, both of Arcadia; grandchildren: Logan, Kallie, and Daarah Slaby and Justin (Brittany Guenther) White; great-grandchildren: Kennedy Guenther and Lola White; aunt: Bette Theisen; brother-in-law: Sherm Schaefer; and nieces and nephew.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister: Sharon Schaefer; and daughter-in-law: Holly Mohr.

Family and friends are welcome for visitation from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at the Wozney-Killian Funeral Home, Arcadia, where there will be a prayer service beginning at 6 p.m. officiated by Father Isaac Pecha followed by the Rosary. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Glencoe Township, rural Arcadia.
