Roger F. Waldera, 68, of Arcadia/Blair, WI died on Wednesday, October 31, 2012, surrounded by family at Grand View Care Center in Blair.

Roger was born on October 12, 1944, in Arcadia to Ralph and Esther (Thomas) Waldera. Roger was united in marriage to Michele Drury on August 15, 1970, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Arcadia. Roger enlisted in the United States Army on November 9, 1965, and served during the Vietnam Conflict as a Specialist until his honorable discharge in 1967. Roger worked on various ranches out west before returning to the Arcadia area where he worked as a butcher for Pat's Meat Market and salesman selling Butler grain bins. Roger also worked in construction and was employed by Ashley Furniture until his retirement. He was a member of Holy Family Parish and the VFW. He was a gifted musician and played guitar and sang with Marlette's Music Makers for many weddings and other social functions. He appreciated the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, mushroom picking and cooking. Roger will be remembered for his unconditional love of his family and his caring compassion for his friends and neighbors.

Roger is survived by his wife of 42 years, Michele of Arcadia; daughter, Mara (Tim Myher) of Black River Falls; sons, Ryan of Arcadia and Rory of West Allis; brothers, Francis (Sue) Werlein of Taylor and Kevin (Jennifer) Werlein of Arcadia; and sisters, Betty (Richard) Marsolek of Independence, Barbara (Dale) Hegland of Lake Wales, FL, Bonnie (Jim) Richardson of Mindoro and Kay Kubis of Great Falls, MT. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, November 9, 2012, at Holy Family Parish in Arcadia with Father Raj officiating. Family and friends are invited for visitation from 9:30 a.m. to the time of service at church. Burial with Military Rites performed by Tickfer-Erickson Post #17 will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, rural Arcadia.
