Richard "Rick" A. Boberg, 62, of Arcadia, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 24, 2021, at his home.
Rick was born in Arcadia on August 27, 1958, to Alden and Ardys (Scow) Boberg. He attended school in Arcadia and was employed with Gold 'N Plump and most recently Pilgrim's Pride in Arcadia. He was united in marriage to Cheyanne Bremer on July 27, 1983, in Whitehall. Together they raised two children. Though his life was cut short, Rick was enjoying semi-retirement, as he may have been found fishing or cutting/splitting wood when he wasn't at work. Rick enjoyed hunting and being outdoors, as well as enjoying a nice cold one. He was always up for a road trip and patronized local establishments. He also could be found stopping at his best friend, Dave's, and son, Craig's, homes just to shoot the crap and see what they were up to. We know that Dave had a cold, open Busch Light welcoming Rick as soon as they met up again. Rick loved to grill; he was the grill master for Dave's 4th of July party. The slogan above the grill pit states "you kill it, Rick will grill it." Maybe now, he'll be able to find the time to watch, "Lonesome Dove" in its entirety in one sitting. This one's for you, Rick. Until we meet again.
Rick is survived by his wife, Cheyanne of Arcadia; daughter: Jennifer (William) Simmons and their children: Jaelyn, Kaelah and Mackenzi all of Winona; son: Craig of Arcadia; brother: Randy "Butch" of Arcadia; sisters: Patty Weltzien of Arcadia, Lori (David) Skroch of Whitehall, Cindy (Tom) Myers of Arcadia, Lynn (Mike) Wolfe of Arcadia, and Christine (Brian) Bisek of Arcadia; brother-in-law: Tony Schultz of Winona; father and mother-in-law: Dick and Doreen Bremer; and many other in-laws, relatives, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister: Barbara Schultz; a sister in infancy; and uncle-in-law/ best friend: Dave Bremer.
A graveside service and burial will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, June 12, 2021, at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Township of Glencoe. A celebration of Rick's life will be held following the graveside service beginning at 1 p.m.at the Riverland Energy Community Room, Arcadia.
