Patronella "Pat" Marietta Sonsalla, 92, of Arcadia, WI died Tuesday, December 20th, 2016, at St Michael's Assisted Living in Fountain City, WI.
She was born September 3rd, 1924, in Independence, WI daughter of John and Angeline (Schultz) Palkowski. Pat married her first husband Harland Fernholz in 1943 and had daughter, Charlotte. After Harland's death, Pat married Ignatius "Iggy" Sonsalla. Pat & Iggy had daughter, Mary and son, John Patrick (deceased). Pat and Iggy owned and operated the Arcadia Hotel and Tap for 37 years. Pat enjoyed golfing, which she played into her 80's, bowling for over 35 years and playing cards. She spent time volunteering at the hospital and at the OLPH fish frys. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, the Arcadia Country Club and the American Legion Auxiliary which she acted as President for many years.
Pat is survived by her daughters Charlotte (Wallace) Sobotta and Mary (Donald) Wicka; grandchildren Tamara Sobotta, Jason (Crystal) Sobotta, Tina (John) Truax and Jeni (Kevin) Path; great-grandchildren Trey Sobotta Beck, Owen Sobotta, Oliver Sobotta, Alexa Truax, Parker Truax, Tanner Path, Reid Path, Preston Path, Emery Path and great-great-grandchild Charlie Ott Beck.
Pat was preceded in death by her first husband Harland Fernholz, second husband Ignatius Sonsalla; son John Patrick Sonsalla; siblings Elizabeth George, John Palkowski and Valentine Palkowski; half siblings Helen Palkowski, Francis Schaffer and Caroline Gabriel.
Visitation will be 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM followed by the funeral mass at 11 AM, Friday, February 10, 2017, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Arcadia, WI. Burial will take place after the mass with lunch following at Holy Family Parish.
