Megan Marie Kupka, 13, passed away with her loving family by her side on Tuesday, July 17, 2012, at her home after a courageous battle with cancer.
Megan was born on February 20, 1999, in La Crosse, WI to Michael and Tina (Stolpa) Kupka. She was a student at Arcadia Public School and loved going to school, doing artwork, and playing on the computer. Megan loved her teachers Miss Jennifer Young and Mrs. Jennifer Kowalsky. Megan had a very close relationship with Autumn Bergerson. Megan admired and loved her Uncle Jeff and waited for his visit every week. Megan was an avid Green Bay Packer fan, especially #52 Clay Matthews. She also enjoyed horses, listening to Keith Urban, playing Uno, chocolate, having her nails done, and taking walks to check the apple trees. Megan loved being a big sister and referred to Emily and Jessica as her little twerps. Megan touched many people's lives as she was brave and positive throughout her cancer journey.
Megan is survived by her parents, Mike and Tina of Arcadia; two sisters, Emily and Jessica Kupka of Arcadia; grandparents, Peter and Barbara Kupka of Arcadia, Ben Stolpa and Gayle Goetzman- Stolpa of Winona, and Dick and Maureen Hansen of Winona; uncles, aunts, cousins, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her best friend Mackayla Fernholz.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Family Parish, 223 Maple Street, Arcadia, on Friday, July 20, 2012, at 11:00 A.M. with Father Raj officiating. Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. at Holy Family Parish, where there will be a 7:00 p.m. prayer service and a 7:30 p.m. Rosary. They may also call from 10 a.m. to the time of service at the church prior to services on Friday. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, rural Arcadia.
