Marion Doenier

November 3, 1935 — July 7, 2024

Marion Lois Doenier, aged 88, passed from earth to heaven on July 7, 2024. Marion was born to Alvin and Frances (Loesel) Kindschy at the family farm in Cream, WI, on Nov 3, 1935. Her family moved to Alma when she was very young. Here she grew up and attended school, eventually graduating from the University of Wisconsin, Stout, with a teaching degree in home economics. Upon graduating, she taught home economics at area schools. She was also involved in 4H groups, teaching young girls to sew.

It was through 4H, at the county fair, that she caught the eye of Lowell Doenier. He invited her to a square dance at Harmony Park in Waumandee, Buffalo County. Lowell and Marion danced together through many reels and turns and were married in Christ Lutheran Church of Arcadia, Trempealeau County, on August 8, 1958. They moved to the Doenier family farm on County Rd X in Buffalo County, where Lowell and his brother Waine Doenier co-owned the dairy farm and raised turkeys. Here they reared 4 children. Marion continued to substitute teach locally. She was an excellent cook and homemaker, gardening and canning her homegrown produce and teaching her children and others to do so, too. She was always willing to help others, whether at church, or for family, neighbors, and friends. She also worked alongside Lowell on the farm. She and sister-in-law Sonia led the area 4H group for many years, and she was involved with the area Lions group. Marion was a dedicated and faithful member of Christ Lutheran. She is remembered for her kindness, generosity, service, good sense of humor, and inner strength.

Marion was a loving and gracious daughter, sister, wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, godmother, aunt, and friend. She is survived by her children, Kevin (Sue Ellen) Doenier, Wanda Koshak, Linda (Jeff) George, and Corinne (Chuck) Roll; grandchildren, Cara (Michael) Hilzley, Alexandria (Deon) Birschbach, Nathan Koshak, Jon (Ally) Doenier, Anna (Mike) Cole, Elisabeth (Marcus) Velzen, Abigail (Peter) Witkowski, Joanna (Chad) Herman, Sam (Meghan) Doenier, Alyssia (Zach) Hilton, Jason George, and Lindsay (Jacob) Bryhn; 21 great-grandchildren; niece, Pat Kindschy; sisters-in-law, Vira Mae Engel-Stuber and Sharon Salwey; brothers-in-law, Waine Doenier and LaVern (Betty) Doenier; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; son-in-law, Greg Koshak; brother, Byron Kindschy; sister, Betty Kopp; sister-in-law, Sonia Doenier; brothers-in-law, Carlton Kopp, Galen Engel, and Gerald Salwey.
