Margaret Magdalene Schlesser, 78, of Arcadia, passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2019, at St. Anne's of Winona, under the care of Winona Health Hospice.
Margaret was born on May 28, 1941, in Waumandee, WI to Frank and Josephine (Jaskola) Grulkowski. After graduating from high school, Margaret married Alfred Schlesser at the Cathedral of Sacred Heart in Winona on July 9, 1966. Together the couple maintained a dairy farm while raising their family in Glencoe. Margaret was deeply devoted to her faith and her family, and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She also found enjoyment in crocheting and feeding and watching birds. Margaret was proud to have learned to fly an airplane; obtaining her pilot's license and flying a solo flight. She was a member of Holy Family Parish, Holy Family PCCW, and the Glencoe Homemaker's Club.
Margaret is survived by her husband of 52 years, Alfred of Arcadia; daughter, Carol (Dan) Hesch of Arcadia; son, Bill (Sue) Schlesser of Arcadia; 2 grandchildren: Hanna and Ty Schlesser; and a sister Roseanne (Bob) Berberich of Circle Pine, MN.
She was preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter, Jennifer Ann; brothers: Roman and Emil; sisters: Antoinette Baures, Gertrude Passe, Virginia Horsnell, Frances Rothering, and Mary Stiehl.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 noon on Friday, June 21, 2019, at Holy Family Parish with Father Kyle Laylan officiating. Family and friends are welcome for visitation at Wozney-Killian Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 20, 2019, where there will be a 7:30 p.m. Rosary, and also one hour prior to the mass on Friday at church.
