Lyle Adank

December 9, 1939 — July 14, 2019

Lyle Robert Adank, 79, of Waumandee, passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2019, surrounded by his family at home under the care of St. Croix Hospice.

Lyle was born in Arcadia on December 9, 1939, to David and Alvina (Kalina) Adank. After graduating from high school, Lyle enlisted into the Army National Guard. Lyle worked as an electrician for Wally's Electric and for R&R Electric, where he diligently worked for 53 years. He was united in marriage to Teckla Lisowski on July 25, 1959, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Waumandee. Lyle was an avid hunter, especially enjoying deer, racoon and mushroom hunting. He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, the Waumandee Sportsman's Club, the Trap Shooting League in Arcadia, and volunteered with the Waumandee Fire Department. Lyle also volunteered and traveled to the Boy's Camp of Branson, Missouri to teach and mentor in the electrical trade.

Lyle is survived by his wife of 60 years: Teckla of Waumandee; sons: Terry (Beth) Adank of Waumandee and Vilas (Brenda) Adank of Waterville, MN; daughters: Lori (Rob) Christianson of Mountain Lake, MN, Jackie (Scott) Svenby of Medford, MN, and Kelly (Mike) Neumann of Hubertus, WI; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; twin brother: Lonnie (Charlene) Adank of Indian Creek; brother: Dale (Pat) Adank of Wyattville, MI; sisters: Ruth (Stanley) Swenson of Buffalo City, Ruby (Bob) Schlesser of Le Mars, IA, and Debbie (Steve) Knutson of Alma; sisters-in-law: Sue Adank and Mary Anne Adank; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Gregory in infancy; and brothers: Jerome and Gordon.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 19, 2019, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Waumandee with Reverend Prince Raja officiating. Family and friends are welcome for visitation from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. prior to the mass at church on Friday. Burial with Military Rites presented by C-FC American Legion Post #56 will be in St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery.
