Laverne Haines

Laverne W. Haines, 84, of Arcadia died on Friday, February 27, 2026, at Marinuka Mannor, in Galesville.

Laverne was born in Arcadia on April 19, 1941, to Werner and Eleanor (Sonsalla) Haines. He graduated from Arcadia High School and enlisted in the United States Guard. On September 10, 1966 he was joyfully united in marriage Nancy Fernholz at OLPH church beginning a devoted and enduring partnership.

Laverne enjoyed the Packers, playing Euchre, gambling, making and smoking bologna, and deer hunting with his wife, Nancy.

Laverne is survived by his sons: Dale Haines and Doug Haines; grandchildren: Lexi Haines, and Kelsey (AJ) Roubideaux; great-grandson: Krew; brothers: LeeRoy (Agnes) Haines, Darrel (Ann) Haines, and Edward (Denise) Haines; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers: Harry and Tom Haines.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m., Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at Wozney-Killian Funeral Home, 1378 E Wilson Ave., Arcadia, led by Father Kyle Laylan. Visitation will be held from 2 until the time of the service. To leave an online condolence for his family, please visit www.wozneykillian.com.
