La Verne O. Bjorge, 86, of Arcadia died on Sunday, August 26, 2012, at Lakeview Health Care in West Salem, WI.
La Verne was born on July 18, 1926, in Ettrick to Olaf and Inga (Halverson) Bjorge. He married Josephine A. "Josey" Urbick on January 14, 1946, in Arcadia. Josey died on November 4, 1998. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and was a truck driver for Kujak Trucking. La Verne loved working in his garage, working on motors, driving in his truck around the countryside, going for breakfast, and going to the Casino.
La Verne is survived by 7 daughters: Jo (Steve) Mader of San Diego, CA, Delane (Ted) Pierzina of Onalaska, Arlene (David) Ruff of Arcadia, Janet (Kenny) Ruff of St. Joseph, MO, Renae (Richard) Bisek of Arcadia, Nancy (Daryl) Kupietz of Arcadia, Lori (Randy) Bautch of Independence, one son: Darrel (Kim) Bjorge of De Pere, WI, two sisters-in-law: Esther Tranberg and Grace Besek both of Winona, Special friend: Adeline Conrad of Arcadia, 24 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Josey, four sons: La Verne Jr, Dennis La Ray, Allen La Ray, Dennis James, two brothers: Ivan and Verlyn "Shorty", two sisters: Clarice Urbick and Merle Bjorge.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 29, 2012, at 11:00 A.M. at Christ Lutheran Church with Rev. Peter Jonas officiating. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Wozney-Killian Funeral Home where there will be a 7:00 P.M. prayer service. They may also call from 9:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. at the Funeral Home on Wednesday. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
