John Patzner, 82, of Arcadia, WI passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 7, 2025, surrounded by his family.
John was born on Thursday, August 12, 1943, to Edward and Bernadine (Mimetz) Patzner and raised on the family farm near Dodge, Wisconsin, along with his nine siblings. He started school in a one-room country schoolhouse before transferring schools to Pine Creek in the 2nd grade. He graduated from Arcadia High School in 1962. He worked construction briefly in Minneapolis, but his love of agriculture urged him to return to farm with his father in Dodge, WI to pursue his dream of being a farmer.
He met Judith Kokott of Arcadia and were married May 1, 1965. Together they raised six children, Mark (Bethelynn) Patzner, Brad (Cynthia) Patzner, Jill (David Maliszewski), Noel (Henry Filla), Neil (Lori) Patzner and Lynn (Josh Crist).
John and Judy purchased a 380-acre farm in 1969 in Newcomb Valley to pursue his passion for farming and to raise a family. John enjoyed farming, watching football, and sharing his wisdom with his children. John's favorite hobby was to watch his children play sports, and to his delight, all six of his children participated in various sports in which he enjoyed "coaching" them for the next game.
John is survived by Judy Patzner and his children and grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings: Edward (DeLaine) Patzner, Marilyn Hoesley, William Patzner, Rodney (Karen) Patzner, Dianne Guesman, Barbara Patzner, and Thomas (Marge) Patzner.
He was preceded in death by his oldest sister Virginia (Patzner) Jackson and his parents. John's sister LaDonna Nash passed on September 15th, 2025.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 10, 2025, at Most Sacred Heart Church, N20555 Cty Rd G, Dodge, WI 54625, with Father Kyle Laylan.
