Joann M. Kramer, 85, of Dodge passed away on December 16, 2023, at Mayo Clinic Health System- Franciscan Healthcare in La Crosse.
Joann was born on May 28, 1938, in rural Galesville to Ralph and Verna (Walski) Moga.
Growing up as a farm girl in the Dodge area, Joann loved the outdoors and being active. She liked being involved in many chores, tended to animals, did lots of gardening and was very capable at driving tractors and trucks, baling hay, and even hauling milk. Joann loved to spend time with friends and knew how to have fun. One of Joann's greatest life-long joys was FISHING - she LOVED to fish! She enjoyed catching them and eating them.
Joann was united in marriage to Thomas Kramer on October 17, 1959. They lived on the farm in Dodge for a few years, as Joann wanted to be close to her parents' house to be a caretaker in times of need. Joann and Tom later purchased their own beautiful farm a few miles from Dodge. She spent a number of years tending to things around the house and the farm, and being a mom to her two boys as Tom also worked off the farm. She loved to dabble in some arts and crafts and try new things. She became a good seamstress and made many clothes for herself and her family. She would regularly spend time with her sisters and they would often end up baking or playing cards, giving their kids great opportunities to play together and spend time as cousins. Tom and Joann continued to live together on their farm for 63 years until Tom's death in March of this year.
Through it all, Joann was generous and had a good heart. Her faith was important to her, and she served many years on the Sacred Heart Parish Rosary Society.
Joann is survived by her sons Daryl (LuAnn, nee Harms) and Michael (Claire Sandler); grandchildren: Luke, Abigail (husband, Patrick), Samuel, Eve, Daisy, and Fiona; brother, James Moga; sister, Irene (Gerald) Hermann; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Tom; brothers: Frank, Raphael, and Gabriel; and sister Dorothy Rothering.
