Jerome Bisek

June 2, 1936 — August 13, 2024

Jerome “Butch” E. Bisek, 88, of Arcadia, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at his home. Jerome was born on the family farm, rural Arcadia, on June 2, 1936, to Adam and Gertrude (Skroch) Bisek. He enlisted into the United States Army in 1955, where he was stationed at Camp Chaffee, Arkansas. After his honorable discharge in 1957, Jerome moved back home where he helped local farmers until starting a job working road construction. He was able to travel many places for work until his retirement in 1998. He was a proud member of the Laborer’s International Union of North America for 60 years.

Jerome was united in marriage to Bernice Wozney on November 16, 1963, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Arcadia, and the couple was blessed with 2 children: Brian and Brenda. Butch had a heart of gold and was always helping his friends and neighbors with anything he could assist with. He could fix almost anything that needed fixing and enjoyed cutting and selling firewood. Butch took pride in mowing and raking his lawn, gardening and canning homemade sauerkraut. He was an avid deer hunter and a fan of the Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers.

Jerome is survived by his wife of 60 years, Bernice of Arcadia; son: Brian (Chris) Bisek of Arcadia; daughter: Brenda (Willis) Bautch of Arcadia; grandson: Mason Bisek; step-granddaughter: Haili (John) Jacobs; step-great-grandson: Aiden Snyder; sister: Gertie (Robert) Gawinski; sisters-in-law: Patricia Bisek, Charlotte Bisek, Angeline Breska and Mary (Larry) Dubiel; brother-in-law: Joe Wozney and many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Adrian, Donald, Robert and Joseph; sisters: Bernice (Frank) Bisek, Delores (Peter) Klink, Irene (Ray) Slabik, and Romell Bisek; brother-in-law: Wilfred Breska; and sister-in-law: Theresa Wozney; and his dog: Meeko.
