Jean Ann Schmitt, 78, of Mondovi died on Saturday, February 4, 2017, at American Lutheran Home in Mondovi. Jean was born on June 17, 1938, in Arcadia to Joseph W. and Frances (Tomsen) Patzner Sr.
On June 13, 1959, Jean married Russell J. Schmitt at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Arcadia. Jean worked at the Flour City Packaging for many years. Jean was a hard worker, loved spending time with Russell, her dog: Roxy, family and friends, and working in her flower garden.
Jean is survived by her brother: Joseph "Sonny" (Marian) Patzner Jr. of Eleva; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband: Russell; her parents; and her sisters: Theresa (in infancy), Maureen Bork, Betty Klink and Donna Soppa.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2017, at 11:00 AM at Holy Family Parish with Rev. Sebastian Kolodziejczyk officiating. Friends may call on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of services at the church. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, (Glencoe), rural Arcadia.
