James "Jake" Anthony Angst was born on November 3, 1959, in Arcadia, WI to Myron "Mike" and Mary (Giemza) Angst, and passed away on June 4, 2024, at his home.
Jake graduated from Arcadia High School where he participated in many athletic activities, and graduated from the University College while in the armed forces.
Jake proudly served in the United States Air Force for 18 years from 1978-1996 in Korea as SSGT. He married Kum Sun Kim in 1985 in Korea. After his military service he returned to Arcadia and was actively employed until his retirement.
He is survived by his wife: Kum Sun Kim; two sons, James Kim Angst and other son Brian Jacobson; grandson, Henry Laskowski; brother, Andy Angst; sisters, Carleen (Brian) Wilson, Sara (Roger Hannah) Angst, Deanna "DeeDee" (Jay) Hyland; nephew, Jordan Angst; nieces, Kirstin Drexler and Rebecca Johnson; and special friend, Amy Burchard.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mike and Mary; brother, Matthew; and niece, Elizabeth Nystrom.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at Holy Family Parish in Arcadia with Reverend Kyle Laylan officiating. Family and friends may call from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at church. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery with military rites rendered by the Tickfer-Erickson Legion Post 17. In lieu of flowers, please consider a modest donation to the Wounded Warriors project.
In the 64 years Jake has lived, he was so many things to so many people. Jake truly had a heart of gold, always looking to comfort others, and lend a hand. He loved his family, friends, and the Lord Jesus Christ. He will be deeply missed by many.
