Giorgianni Diaz

Giorgianni Mitchell Diaz, 22, of Arcadia and Eau Claire, WI, passed away on Tuesday, September 8th, 2026. Gio was born in Albert Lea, MN, on May 29th, 2004, to Yehin Legorreta and Carlos Diaz Ruiz. He was the youngest of five children.

Gio attended Arcadia High School where he played many sports, including football, wrestling, and track and field. He also pursued performance arts with multiple musicals and concerts alongside his a cappella group, The Accidentals. He went on to win three consecutive Outstanding Vocal Percussionist awards for his talented beat-boxing. His leadership in these groups, along with his witty humor, relentless creativity, and friendly nature, made him a cornerstone of the community.

Gio graduated from Arcadia High School in 2022 and immediately felt a calling to serve his country. Initially deciding to pursue a degree in criminal justice, he aimed higher and committed himself to the Wisconsin Army National Guard. Gio completed his basic training at Fort Benning in Georgia. Upon returning, he was assigned to Alpha Company of the 128th Infantry Regiment, where, through his hard work and dedication, was promoted to Specialist; the highest ranking available among junior enlisted ranks.

Gio was called to serve his country in 2024, deploying overseas to the Middle East in the small country of Kuwait. After returning from a ten-month deployment, his dedication to his faith strengthened greatly. He continued his pursuit of helping others and serving his community by earning his associate's degree in criminal justice, acquiring his EMT certification, and working towards becoming a police officer.

Gio is survived by his four siblings, of whom he shared a close bond with; Majanaim (Zac) Finholdt, Nathaniel Legorreta, Joshua Diaz, and Korey (Hope) Diaz, along with his nephew, Finnick, and niece, Beverly. Despite being the youngest among them, each of his siblings still looked up to him for his bravery, his resilience, and his profound yearning to do good.

Visitation will be held at the Holy Family Catholic Church on Friday, September 18th, 2026, from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM, immediately followed by a Funeral Mass at 6:30 PM, which will be officiated by Father Kyle Laylan. Food will follow.

The family requests that guests wear white to the funeral service.
