Evelyn Rotering

Evelyn Rotering, 98, of Arcadia passed away on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at her home with 3 of her daughters by her side after fighting a courageous battle with heart failure.

Evelyn was born December 16, 1927, in North Creek to Thomas and Gertrude (Lisowski) Pierzina. She graduated from Arcadia High School and married the love her life, Jerome B. Rotering on June 17, 1946. She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and PCCW in Waumandee. She was blessed with a wonderful family of 8, (4 boys and 4 girls). Together they owned and operated the family farm which has been in the family for over 150 years. Jerome and Evelyn acquired 3 farms which their sons operate. All 4 sons carried on the tradition of farming. Evelyn was very involved in farming with Jerome from feeding calves to driving tractor to helping with whatever chores were needed. Mom had a very special devotion to praying the Most Holy Rosary, which she did several rosaries daily. She was a wonderful cook, devoted mother, and made time for other hobbies that she enjoyed from cake decorating, sewing and quilting and canning and gardening. She enjoyed her flowers, growing the most beautiful gladiolus -and harvesting the woods for black berries, apples, mushrooms and hickory nuts. Mom taught all her daughters how to cook and can fruits and vegetables, sewing, she taught us so much. Her daughters enjoyed spending that time together creating a special bond. Evelyn thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her 12 grandchildren - her 19 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren, and she was looking forward to welcoming a new great-grandbaby in March. She will be deeply missed by her entire family which she constantly showed her love for.

Evelyn is survived by her family: four sons Jerry (Lorraine) Rotering of Cochrane, Thomas (Betty) Rotering of Fountain City, Joseph (Brenda) Rotering of Arcadia and James (Pamela) Rotering of Cochrane; four daughters: Dorothy (James) Marsolek, Marlene Rotering, Joanne Rotering, and Marie Rotering, all of Arcadia.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Jerome B. Rotering; parents: Thomas and Gertrude Pierzina; brothers: Alois, Theodore and Alfred Pierina, and great-grandson Bradyn Marsolek, our little angel in heaven.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 Noon on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Waumandee with Rev. Kyle Laylan officiating. Family and friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of mass at church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
