Elizabeth Brandtner

August 20, 1947 — July 5, 2020

God said I need someone willing to count chickens, chase calves, grow trout for the DNR, and bring gas to a stranded farmer, so God made Betty.

God said I need someone gentle enough to kiss the owies of her children and grandchildren, and creative enough to sew diapers for stuffed animals and make hay bales for toy farm implements, so God made Betty.

God said I need someone able to organize community events, volunteer at the church, and advocate for and donate to many charitable causes, so God made Betty.

God said I need someone able to sit up all night comforting her child and taking care of her when she's sick, but strong enough to say goodbye and entrust her to God, so God made Betty.

God said I need someone skilled enough to cook holiday dinners, entertain family and friends, but willing to forgo a seat or a bite to eat until everyone was gone, so God made Betty.

God said he needed an angel, someone to watch over everyone and continue to be the guardian she was on Earth, so he called her home on July 5th, 2020.

Our newest angel, Elizabeth "Betty" Ann Brandtner was born In La Crosse, WI on August 20, 1947, to Arland and Irene (Morman) Hegland. She grew up with her two sisters and brother in Hokah, MN, then moved to Ettrick, WI when the family bought a farm.
