Dodo and Gile owned the Herrick Skogmo Store located in the Massuere Building in Arcadia from 1962 until retiring in 1977 (Gile started working in the store when he was in his teens) . The store, along with the Ben Franklin Dime store, Gambles Hardware store and a grocery store were in the same building, a precursor to today's shopping malls. In their store they sold shoes, men's, women's and children's clothing, bedding and fabric.
