Daniel G. Reit, 62, of Arcadia, passed away Tuesday March 31, 2026 unexpectedly at the family hunting cabin. He was born on August 30, 1963, in Whitehall to Glen and Jeanette (Serum) Reit.
Dan spent his career as a real estate broker with Land and Home Realty, while also playing an integral role in the family business, Dairyland Labs Inc.
Dan met Amie Schlifer in the summer of 2002, and together they shared 22 wonderful years. In recent years, Dan and Amie retired and cherished spending time together.
Dan had a deep love for the outdoors. His passions included hunting, fishing, and following the Minnesota Vikings and Wisconsin Badgers. He found great joy in spending time in nature, caring for his dogs, and embracing the quiet beauty of the land. He was a dedicated member and past president of the Arcadia Sportsman's Club. A skilled traditional archer, Dan was especially proud of recently harvesting a moose.
Dan was also a valued member of the local fundraising community, generously giving his time and energy to projects that strengthened the area. He was especially proud to support the development of the Reit Athletic Field.
Above all, Dan's life was rooted in his love for his family and his strong faith. He will be remembered for his hardworking nature, his generosity, and the deep care he showed to those around him.
Dan is survived by his wife, Amie; children, Charles (Ireland Andre) Reit and Sky (Joseph Rivera) Reit; parents, Glen and Jeanette Reit; sisters, Tami (Dave) Taysom and Lori (Mark) Amborn; along with a large extended family and friends.
