On Wednesday, February 23, 2022 Reverend Carl Roy Stone Jr, 70 awoke as he always did giving thanks to the Lord for another beautiful day to be alive. Later that day Carl passed away and went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to live forever in heaven, a place of eternal glory!
Carl was born on January 16, 1952 to Carl and Ruth Stone in Breckinridge, KY. His father's military service took him, his parents,, sister and three brothers across the United States and abroad. When Carl turned 18 he enlisted in the United States Army - 82nd Airborne Division; he was honorably discharged. Carl later received a college degree in auto mechanics.
Carl will be remembered for many teachings of God's word as a Pastor and evangelist & fulfilling God's calling on his life as a Reverend. He always shared a scripture that was insightful to the moment. He loved the citizens of Arcadia and they loved him. Carl loved the wonderful people of his hometown, Arcadia and they received him with joy in their hearts because they could feel what Carl expressed! He was always willing to lend a helping hand with them and also share the love of Jesus at the same time. He never let anyone's perception stand in his way of his path. His positive outlook, charming personality, great sense of humor, voice and a smile that lit up a room are qualities we will forever cherish.
Carl was talented in so many aspects of his life. He was a jack of all trades; he loved singing, playing guitar, fishing, working in his shop, preaching, and spending time with friends & family. He was a terrific husband, father, and grandpa. His children were his life. There was never a day that went by he didn't brag about all of them. Carl found joy in traveling to many nursing homes singing and playing guitar with his Wife for the residents.
Carl is survived by his wife Barbara Jean. His children, Carlie Anne (Adam) Sims, Tina (Chris Kruse), Timothy (Miranda) Stone, Zach, Nathan and stepchildren Jamie Sobotta and Amy (Greg) Fernholz. His grandchildren Caden, Connor, Chloe, Scoti, Jordan, Madalyn and great-granddaughter Braelynn. Best friends/brothers Harland (Gail), Joe (Sandra) and Dan (Shannon).
Carl is also survived by his stepchildren, step grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Carl is proceeded in death by his parents Carl Sr and Ruth Stone and sister Penny Walters.
Carl's family will be having a private service.
