Anthony (Tony) Slaby, 65, of Arcadia died Sunday, May 11, 2014.
Tony was born April 4, 1949 in Arcadia to Vincent and Delores (Slabik) Slaby. He graduated from Arcadia High School in 1967.
On Oct. 17, 1970, Tony married Marlys A. Kolstad. They had four children. Tony was an excellent dairy farmer all of his life before retiring in 2010. Tony and Marlys divorced in 2013.
Tony is survived by four children, Anthony A. (Amy Krueger) Slaby of Onalaska, Noah (Sarah) Slaby of Arcadia, Kathryn (Ron) Peterson of Lockhart, Tex., and Kendra (Jeremy) Rupp of Duluth, Minn.; his former wife Marlys Kolstad; and eight grandchildren, Kanah, Jonah, and Zionah Slaby; Annabelle, James, and Isaiah Peterson; and Selah and Aowyn Rupp. He is also survived by his mother, Delores Slaby, sister, Sue (Dennis) Kiehl, and brothers Frank (Barb) Slaby, Mike (Mary) Slaby, and Pat (Mary) Slaby.
Tony greatly enjoyed his cows and farming, hunting deer and other game with friends and family throughout the years, following his beloved Packers, Brewers, and Badgers, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was also a long-time accomplished league bowler. He took great pride in harvesting three trophy whitetail bucks during his time as a hunter and bowling a 300 game.
He was preceded in death by his father, Vincent.
In keeping with Tony's wishes, a private visitation and memorial service for family members will be held Friday, May 16 at Wozney Funeral Home in Arcadia. The visitation will begin at 9 a.m. and a memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. with Rev. Sebastian Kolodziejczyk officiating. Burial of Tony's ashes will follow in St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery in Arcadia.
In lieu of flowers or memorials, friends are asked to make a donation to their favorite charity.
