Theresa A. Sonsalla, 82, of Arcadia, passed away surrounded by her family on Sunday, April 22, 2018, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.
Theresa was born on October 16, 1935, in Arcadia to Edward Joseph and Sophie Veronica (Fonfara) Sonsalla. She married Stanley J. Kupietz, Jr. on August 29, 1955, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. They later divorced. She then married Richard Sonsalla on September 26, 2003, at Holy Family Parish in Arcadia. She worked at A-G Hatchery, provided childcare, and worked as the housekeeping supervisor at St. Joseph's Hospital for over 30 years. After her retirement, she enjoyed caring for many children. She was a member of Holy Family Parish, PCCW, baked coffee cakes and bread, and worked as a funeral lunch cook. Theresa was a member of the Arcadia Lioness and the American Auxiliary, where she was treasurer. She enjoyed dancing, sewing, quilting, reading, and had a green thumb. Theresa's greatest love was her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and the children she cared for.
Theresa is survived by her husband, Richard of Arcadia; her two children, two granddaughters and two great-granddaughters: Anthony (Roberta) Kupietz of Arcadia, their daughter, Casey (Jeff) DeGier, and their two daughters, Everly and Adleigh; Fay Kupietz of Blair, her daughter, Madison (Rudy Hesch) Berg; sisters: Margie Kampa, Marie Korpal, Joan Klink all of Arcadia, Jean Bautch of Independence, and Nancy (Steve) Mauhar of Chippewa Falls; brother, Edward J. Sonsalla, Jr. of Arcadia; three step-children: Joy Quadt, Jeff Crivello, and Jody Sonsalla; step-grandchildren: Remington and Royal Sonsalla; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Daniel L. Kupietz; and a sister in infancy, Davida.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at noon on Friday, April 27, 2018, at Holy Family Parish with Reverend Sebastian Kolodziejczyk officiating. Family and friends are invited for visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of service at church on Friday. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, rural Arcadia.
