Jeanette A. Wiench Andre, 83, of Altoona, and formerly of Arcadia, passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2019, at Grace Edgewood Assisted Living in Altoona, under the care of St. Joseph's Hospice.
Jeanette was born in Independence on May 27, 1936, to John and Blanche (Puchalla) Wiench. She attended Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Schools, laying the foundation for her devotion to her Catholic faith. Jeanette married Lee Andre, and the couple moved to Arcadia. Though the two later divorced, they were blessed with four children: Gary Lee, Susan, Lisa and Betty Jo. Jeanette worked for Ashley Furniture Industries and Gold ‘N Plump, where she retired from. In her spare time, she enjoyed gambling, playing BINGO, dancing to Polka music, eating sweets and cooking. Her scalloped potatoes and potato salad were second to none and especially enjoyed by her family.
Jeanette is survived by her son, Gary Andre of Arcadia; daughters, Susan (Michael) Kotlarz of Arcadia, Lisa (Mark) Lamberson of Whitehall, and Betty Jo (Steve) Andre of Holmen; 5 grandchildren: Michael (Fabiola) Kotlarz, Amber (Dallas) Symicek, Samantha Lamberson, Andrew (Jen) Lamberson, and Alexis Krause; 3 great-grandchildren: Harper, Jackson and June Symicek; brother-in-law, Dan Swendrowki; and sister-in-law, Ann Wiench.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers: Ben and Ed; and 3 sisters: Dorothy Sommers, Ruth Swendrowski, and Marion Books.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 19, 2019, at Holy Family Parish in Arcadia. Family and friends are invited for visitation one hour prior to the Mass at church on Monday. Burial will be in Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery, Independence.
