James "Jim" Francis Boberg, 81, of Arcadia died on Tuesday, February 27, 2018, at MCHS-Franciscan Healthcare La Crosse, WI.
Jim was born on September 29, 1936, in Arcadia to Alvin and Irene (Schank) Boberg. Jim graduated from Arcadia High School. He farmed in the Town of Glencoe all his life. He married Darlene Servais on April 4, 1959, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Arcadia. Together they raised beef cattle, pigs, sheep, had a dairy herd until the barn burned, they also had a broiler coop, with Arcadia Fryers. Jim loved living in the county, fishing, traveling the 49 states with his wife. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren in their school functions. He was a member of the Arcadia Area Historical Society, NFO, and Farm Bureau.
Jim is survived by his wife: Darlene of Arcadia; 2 sons: Bill (Ann) Boberg of Arcadia and Jerry (Gloria) Boberg of Arcadia; 1 daughter: Joy (Bruce) Eggert of Winona, MN; 9 grandchildren: Mark (Maigen) Boberg, Dave (Lisa) Boberg, Greg (Seranda) Boberg, Kelly Boberg, Jason Boberg, Brian (Karlee) Eggert, Jodi Eggert, Bradley Eggert, Jesse Herrman; 10 great grandchildren: Lenny, Phillip, Luke, Vera, Lydon, Ella, Jaxson, Kiley, Elly. Lily; 1 brother: Alvin (Carol) Boberg of Texas; 3 sisters: Joyce (Richard) Sobotta of Eleva, WI, Roseanne (Gene) Comero of Michigan, Mary (Harold) Ryan of Arcadia. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister: Theresa Boberg and a grandson: Dustin Boberg.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, March 4, 2018, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Arcadia Area Historical Society (formerly, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church) in Arcadia. In lieu flowers memorials may be directed to the Arcadia Area Historical Society.
