Jacob Glodowski

July 15, 1996 — January 12, 2014

Jacob "Jake" Andrew Glodowski, 17, of Arcadia died Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014, in Arcadia.

Jake was a junior at Arcadia High School, where he was much beloved by classmates and tolerated by teachers. He had a great sense of humor, sparkle in his eye, and amazing smile that always lit up a room. He had a raucous sense of humor that made him the highlight of gatherings of friends and family. He had a kind and loving heart and strong character that helped him develop special friendships with people of all ages.

Jake was a great athlete. He was a proud member of the offensive and defensive lines of the 2013 Arcadia High School football team that was undefeated in their regular season and earned the title of Coulee Conference Champions. Jake was awarded for his efforts with the title of "2013 Most Improved" player by the team and was recognized for his athletic achievement by the Coulee Conference, who named him as "First Team Coulee Conference" for his role on the Offensive Line. Before joining the football team in high school, Jake excelled as a wrestler, earning 3rd place at the Wisconsin Wrestling Federation's State Folkstyle Tournament in 2011.

Jake was also a passionate outdoor sportsman. He hunted, fished, snowmobiled, four-wheeled, biked, shot bow and arrow, and farmed with his family. He had friends of all ages who shared in his hobbies. One of his favorite activities was hunting with his family and friends for raccoon, coyote, squirrels, deer, etc. He and his dad spent hours tracking deer on the farm through their spotting scope. He and his friends loved snowmobiling and four-wheeling in the area. He was an excellent driver and mechanic-he'd been driving tractor on the farm since a young age.

Jake is survived by his mom and dad, Mark and Lori Glodowski, his brother and best friend, Alex Glodowski; grandparents: Joe (Lenny) Glodowski, Clarence and Susan Dubiel. Great-Grandmother: Agnes Dubiel; aunts and uncles: Maria (Randy) Johnson, Damian (Becky) Glodowski, Darin (Kim) Glodowski, Renee (Andy) Rumpca, Roy (Angie) Glodowski, Julie (Slim) Murphy, Colin (Becky) Dubiel, and Cheri (Brian) Buckner; and many cousins and other family members and friends.
