Glennis Adank

February 27, 1932 — November 5, 2017

Glennis Mae Adank, age 85, of Pigeon Falls, WI, died on Sunday, November 5, 2017 at the Pigeon Falls Care Center. Glennis was born on February 27, 1932 on the family farm in Cochrane, WI, to the late Raymond and Verna (Weltzien) Maier.
Glennis met Virgil in 1948 at a tavern in Waumandee on her way to take her siblings skating. Two years later they were married on August 31, 1950. Virgil and Glennis had five children. The three girls are Kathleen, Diane and Karen. The boys are Gaylord and Ronnie. Karen lives in Arcadia, Diane is now living near Emerald and Ronnie lives in Blair.
After being married, they moved around a bit because Virgil worked for a few different farmers and would be put up in a house on the property where he was working. Virgil also worked for Warner Swasey for over 20 years as a welder. After years of working for others, Virgil and Glennis bought their own farm outside of Waumandee. They owned and worked this farm for 17 years while raising their family. After selling the farm, the family bought a house in the town of Waumandee and Virgil worked selling farm equipment and for the town of Waumandee.
During this time, Glennis busied herself with house work and babysitting for her grandchildren. Some of Glennis favorites activities were gardening and baking. She and the family were active participants at the Saint Boniface Church. Glennis also enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading the Winona paper, magazines and watching tv. Glennis was an avid Packer Fan.
Glennis and Virgil did not travel much but they did enjoy going to the casinos when they could. Their daughter, Diane lives near New Richmond and each time Glennis and her husband would go for a visit, they made sure to get to the casino near Diane's house. If she could have traveled anywhere, Glennis thought she would have liked to have gone to Florida for the warm weather and beautiful plants, "but not during hurricane season".
She is survived by two daughters, Diane (Albert) Konsela of New Richmond, Karen (Peter) Skroch of Arcadia and a son, Ronnie (Kathy) Adank of Blair. 14 grandchildren, several great grandchildren; sisters, LaVonne Comero of Mondovi, Carolyn Lisowski of Owatonna, MN, and Charlene (Lonnie) Adank of Fountain City.
Preceded in death by her husband, Virgil, son, Gaylord and daughter, Kathleen Wettlaufer; 3 brothers, Myles, Gail, and Raymond; 1 grandson, Jeremy Konsela, 2 great grandsons, Creed Nerison and Grayson Skroch
