Bernice A. Gatz, 88, of Arcadia died on Sunday, March 17, 2013, at Gundersen Tri County Hospital and Clinics in Whitehall, WI.
Bernice was born on October 24, 1924, in Arcadia to Edward and Elizabeth (Giemza) Giemza. She married Harold Gatz, he died in 1978. Bernice was a member of Holy Family Parish, the PCCW, the former St. Anne's Rosary Society. She served on the funeral lunch group, assisted with the fund raisers for the Catholic School. She worked as a private family housekeeper in Milwaukee, and then worked in housekeeping at St. Joseph's Hospital and Nursing Home in Arcadia. Her church and family were very important to her.
Bernice is survived by her niece; Kathleen (Thomas) Saari of Oshkosh and her children; Matthew Saari, Linda (Fiancée Kiel Nickolaus) Saari, Megan Saari, step daughter; Sandra Gatz of Las Vegas and her son; Marcus Falconieri, brother-in-law; Donald (Sharon) Wolfgram of Pewaukee, close cousins; Richard (Theresa) Sonsalla, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold and a sister, Irene Wolfgram.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at 11:30 AM at Holy Family Parish with Father Raj officiating. Friends may call from 10:30 AM until the time of services on Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery in rural Arcadia.
