Richard J. Klonecki, 78, of Arcadia died on Wednesday, April 20, 2016, at his home. Richard was born on August 8, 1937, in Arcadia to Clifford and Leona (Kriebich) Klonecki.
Richard married Alvera "Ellie" Dahl on May 23, 1960, in St. Charles, MN. Richard received his GED and an Associate's Degree in Diesel Trac Mechanics in Military School. Richard attended NCO Academy at Fort Sill, OK and Senior NCO Academy at Bethesda, MD. He served in the U.S. Army from 1960 to 1981, retiring from military duty as a SFC. After his military retirement he worked at Ashley Furniture Industries for 15 years. He was a member of the Tickfer-Erickson Legion Post 17, where he served as Commander and Past Commander; Viet Nam Veterans; and was a member of the 40/8.
Richard is survived by his wife: Ellie of Arcadia; 1 daughter: La Vonne (Keith Neitzel) Klonecki, of Arcadia; 2 sons: Lonnie (Deb) Klonecki and Lorne Klonecki both of Arcadia; 6 grandchildren: Erica, Alissa, Amanda, Asa, Evan and Dustin; great granddaughter: Emmelia Rose; 2 brothers: Roger (Sharon) Klonecki of Greenfield, WI, Gary (Ina) Klonecki of Whitehall; 3 sisters: Betty (Louie) Christopherson of Melrose, Ann (Harold Radtke) Floyd of Rochester, Donna (Les) Allen of Onalaska; nieces, nephews: Tom, Ann, Kim, Lori, Donald, Daniel, Chan, Nancy, Jason, Jeanna, Allisson, Brett, Travis; numerous cousins; and sister-in-law: Marjorie Ives. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother: Eugene; great niece: Brandi Lynn Allen; sister-in-law: Joyce Dahl; and mother-in-law: Ella Dahl.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2016, at 11:00 AM at Wozney-Killian Funeral Home with Rev. Sebastian Kolodziejczyk officiating. Friends may call from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the funeral home on Saturday. Military Rites will be presented by Tickfer-Erickson Legion Post 17.
