Norbert B. Schlesser, 92, of Arcadia died on Wednesday, August 28, 2013, at Benedictine Manor Arcadia Nursing Home.
Norbert was born on March 9, 1921, in the town of Glencoe to Peter John and Sophia (Rotering) Schlesser. Norbert farmed in the Twp. of Glencoe, was a carpenter, a member of Holy Family Parish, a 4th degree Knight of Columbus, a member of Catholic Order of Foresters. Norbert was very active in his church; he enjoyed and loved his coon hunting and deer hunting. He married Severine Suchla on September 16, 1946, at the New Armory due to the fire at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church.
Norbert is survived by his wife Severine of 66 years, of Arcadia; 2 sons: Edmund (Betty) Schlesser and Peter (Betty) Schlesser both of Arcadia; 3 daughters: Marlene (Dan) Hendrickson of La Crosse, Mary Lou (Mike) Slaby of Arcadia, Theresa (Randy) Isaacson of Mondovi/Milwaukee; 1 sister: Florence Suchla of Arcadia, 8 grandchildren: Ann (Sean) Peterson, Andrew Hendrickson, Adam (Becky) Schlesser, Derek Schlesser, Jared Schlesser, Rachel (Adam) Heinson, Bridget (Scott) Bender, Marley (Ryan) Behnke, and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother Wilmer Schlesser.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, September 2, 2013, at 12:00 (Noon), at Holy Family Parish with Rev. Sebastian Kolodziejczyk officiating. Friends may call on Sunday at the Wozney-Killian Funeral Home from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM where there will be a 7:00 PM prayer service and a Knights of Columbus service. They may also call on Monday from 11:00 AM until the time of services at the church. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery in rural Arcadia.
