Maxine M. Slaby, 92, of Arcadia died on Tuesday, February 9, 2016, at St. Michael's Assisted Living in Fountain City, WI. Maxine was born on June 12, 1923, in Arcadia to Aloysius and Caroline (Woychik) Slaby.
Maxine attended St. Stanislaus Catholic School and Arcadia High School. She worked at Winona Knitting Mills. She lived in Winona until her retirement, when she moved back to Arcadia. She was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church all her life. Later she enjoyed her home at St. Joseph's Nursing Home in Arcadia and then at St. Michael's in Fountain City. Thanks to the staff who were a kind family to Maxine.
Maxine is survived by one brother: Al (Darlene) Slaby of Waumandee; 2 nieces: Roxanne (Jeff) Anderson, Rosemary (Tim) Burt; 2 nephews: Joe (Jenny) Slaby, Paul (Barb) Slaby; 13 great nieces and nephews and 3 great great niece and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and 4 siblings in infancy.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2016, at 11:00 AM at Holy Family Parish with Rev. Sebastian Kolodziejczyk officiating. Friends may call from 10:00 AM until the time of services at the church. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery in rural Arcadia.
