Joseph Simon Haines, 83, of Arcadia died on Wednesday, November 23, 2016, at the Strum Area Health-Rehab. and Nursing Home in Strum. Joe was born on July 4, 1933, in Arcadia to Michael and Anna (Suchla) Haines, the last of 14 children. He graduated from Arcadia High School and had been employed by A-G Co-op and Gold N Plump.
Joe married Patricia "Pat" Brogan on July 6, 1957, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Arcadia. He was a member of Holy Family Parish, had served as an usher at O.L.P.H., was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Arcadia Sportsman's Club. Joe enjoyed golf, hunting, fishing, cracking hickory nuts, his Friday night cards and his passion of wood working.
Joe is survived by his wife: Pat of Arcadia; 3 sons: Michael (Melissa) Haines of Holmen, Charles (Cindy) Haines of Arcadia and Joseph (Leanne) Haines of Arcadia; 2 daughters: Diane Kamish of Waconia, MN, Sue (Steve) Wozney of Independence; 13 grandchildren: Clayton Nass, Dustin and Bradey Kamish, Leah and Brock Haines, Reegan, Rylee, and Simon Haines, Colin Haines, Haley and Alec Wozney, Dylan and Jesse Nelson; son-in-law: Steve Nass of Lake Mills; 1 brother: Henry (Mary Ann) Haines of Winona; 1 sister: Theresa Korpal of Milwaukee. He was preceded in death by his: parents; daughter: Debbie Haines on April 19, 2016; siblings: Raymond, Werner, Severin, Gerald, Ben and Bernard Haines, Adeline Kania, Mary Ann Soppa, Vera Lisowski, Lorraine Kampa, and Bernice Slaby.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, November 28, 2016, at 11:00 AM at Holy Family Parish with Rev. Sebastian Kolodziejczyk officiating. Friends may call on Sunday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Wozney-Killian Funeral Home where there will be a 7:00 PM Prayer Service followed by a 7:30 PM Knights of Columbus Rosary. Friends may also call on Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of services at the church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, rural Arcadia.
