Carol Kube

December 24, 1942 — August 9, 2014

Carol Rose Kube, 71, of rural Cochrane and formerly of Arcadia, died peacefully at her home on Saturday, August 9, 2014.
"None of us lives to himself, and none of us dies to himself. If we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord; so then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord's." Romans 14: 7-8
Carol was born December 24, 1942, in Arcadia, to Edward and Clara (Sobotta) Klink. On June 1, 1963, Carol married Allen J. Kube at St. Anthony Park Lutheran Church in St. Paul.
Carol graduated from Arcadia High School and Patricia Stevens Secretarial School in Mpls.
Carol worked at WCCO in Minneapolis and Trempealeau Electric in Arcadia. From 1971 until 2000, she was Secretary- Treasurer of Kube Plumbing, Inc., Arcadia.
Carol was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church, Arcadia. She was a member of the Mississippi Valley Conservancy, Delta Waterfowl, the American Legion Auxiliary and a life member of Ducks Unlimited.
For over 40 years, Carol gave generous support to children in Central and South America through the Christian Children's Fund and to the Christian Broadcasting Network.
Carol enjoyed cooking, especially fish and game, for family and friends. She received praise for wildfowl cooking presentation she made at a recent Wisconsin Waterfowl Hunters' Conference. Many people traveling on Hwy. 88 enjoyed viewing her flower gardens.
Carol enjoyed daily walks on their trails of her beloved Four Seasons Farms. She was an accomplished deer, turkey, and waterfowl hunter. Carol had a fervent love of the natural world and it's critters. She was a dedicated steward of our natural resources, working with Allen to restore and enhance the fields, forest and wetlands on their properties.
Remembering Carol's spirit of the outdoors brings to mind this poem by Robert Gard:
"In the early morning before dawn, I heard the sound of wings, I see them coming in early light, their bodies dark against breaking day. I seems as if the air is their's alone. Their story is like mine; We are wanderers in spirit; They transport me to wonder. Their power is in me and their direction is the direction of my spirit. When they leave in the fall, I go with them. When they come in spring, I am there to meet them. Their shifting in the sky is like the shifting of the clouds, the shifting of the seasons. The pattern of the birds are the pattern of my day. The tendril of time. Where does it go? At the end the birds remain and they climb to the sky as they have for thousands of years."
Carol is survived by her husband, Allen , of 51 years; sisters, Patricia "Pat" Pronschinske of Bluff Siding and Jeanette (Franklin) Pronschinske of Winona; brothers-in-law, Dr. Frank "Carl" (Heidi) Kube of Reedsburg and Michael (Yvette) Kube of Arcadia, several nieces and nephews and special friends, Marcy Hanson, Susan Turney and Wendy Baures.
She was preceded in death by her parents, father and mother-in -law, Frank and Joyce Kube and a brother-in-law, Harlan Pronschinske.
Carol's faith was grounded in the words of Jesus from St. John 14: 1-3;
Let not your heart be troubled: all of you believe in God, believe also in me.
In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there all of you may be also.
Carol Rose, a gentle soul with a sweet smile will be sadly missed.
