Bessiemae Schroeder, 97, of Whitehall and formerly of Arcadia died on Sunday, August 27, 2017, at Gundersen Tri County Care Center in Whitehall, WI. Bessiemae was born on May 3, 1920, in La Crosse to William and Lena (Miller) Atchison.
Bessiemae met Arthur Schroeder at a dance hall in La Crosse; they married on June 12, 1948, in La Crosse. Arthur died on December 1, 1991. She had worked as a dental assistant, in housekeeping and day care. She moved to Arcadia to be closer to her son, Dr. Michael Schroeder and his family.
Bessiemae is survived by her daughter-in-law: Diane Schroeder of Arcadia; grandchildren: Matthew Schroeder of Arcadia and Missy (Jayson) Lesik of Eau Claire; great grandchildren: Brady and Avery Lesik of Eau Claire. She was preceded in death by her husband: Arthur and her son: Dr. Michael Schroeder on June 23, 2011.
Memorial Services will be held on Sunday, September 3, 2017, at 4:00 PM at the Wozney-Killian Funeral Home, Arcadia, with Rev. Sebastian Kolodzieczyk officiating. Friends may call from 3:00 PM until the time of services at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date in the Onalaska Public Cemetery in Onalaska, WI.
