ANGELINE WOLFE OBITUARY

Angeline Wolfe, 94, of Arcadia passed away May 31, 2015 at Wissota Health and Regional Vent Center in Chippewa Falls where she had recently been in residence.
Angeline was born Angeline Grulkowski in rural Waumandee on November 1, 1920 to John and Agnes (Smeija) Grulkowski. She attended local area schools and married Nathan Wolfe of rural Arcadia in September of 1940. She and Nathan farmed in Glencoe Township for a number of years and then moved to Arcadia.
Shortly thereafter Angeline started working at the then Arcadia News-Leader and began writing a byline/column under her own name titled "Names in the News" which she developed and maintained for more than 58 years. Later Angie also began work at then St. Joseph's Hospital where she remained employed for more than 35 years, many of which were in the hospital laundry.
Angeline's faith was a core element of her life. As a lifelong member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help/Holy Family Parishes, she was very involved in parish activities. Folks will remember her pleasant telephone voice, greeting them with "St. Ann's Hall" at the monthly OLPH Fish Fry in which she participated from its beginning. To those who knew her, Angie loved to socialize, go out to eat with friends, play cards and stay active with events such as periodic bus tours.
Reminiscing was one of her favorite pastimes as she had vivid memories of her early childhood in the Waumandee area and she loved sharing them with others. Her knowledge of local area family histories was encyclopedic and her accurate recollections were a source of pleasure and surprise to those she encountered. History, whether local, regional or national, focuses on events and the people that create them. With Angie's passing, a rich primary source of more than a half-century of area family information will no longer available to us.
One of the highlights in Angie's life was seeing all three (3) children graduate from college with their degrees and begin their careers. Another was her genealogy trip to Poland in the late 1980s with her brother Paul. Angie enjoyed her family and spending time with them.
She is preceded in death by her parents John and Agnes Grulkowski, her brothers Earl and Paul and Infant Alphonse, her husband Nathan, children Rochelle and Rodney and grandchildren Marta and Evan Wolfe. She is survived by her sister Betty (Jack) Lambert of rural Trempealeau and son Darryl (Nancy) of Houston, Texas; daughter-in-law Ellen Wolfe, grandchildren Renee, Kathryn, Jay and Lydia Wolfe, Kristen Larson and Greta Anderson; great-grandchildren Aliyah, Dorian, Levi and Elijah Anderson; and nephews John, Scott, Tom and Ross Lambert of rural Trempealeau and Dodge.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, June 5, 2015, at 11:00 AM, at Holy Family Parish, with Rev. Sebastian Kolodiejczyk officiating. Friends may call on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Wozney-Killian Funeral Home where there will be a 7:00 PM rosary; they may also call on Friday from 10:00 AM until Mass at the Church.
